Our Story/Concept
Mission
Relax. Breathe. Be Mindful. Give.
Power of Now Oasis was build to share yoga, meditation and holistic treatments with everyone and most of all: to give back. As our main beneficiaries, we proudly support the Sole Family Foundation. Established in 2010, we are a semi-non-profit company, motivated by karma we believe in the authentic essence of Yoga.
Values
Honesty and Integrity
At Power Of Now Oasis we do our best to respect the laws of the land, as required. We are a fully legal company and our western employees have legal work permits. We pay tax and we endeavor to be respectful members of the expatriate business community. You will not have your retreat canceled, prior or during, by immigration, and risk loss of your valuable time and money.
Power of Now Oasis founder
I built Power of Now Oasis to keep myself occupied, create a meeting place for the community and hopefully help a few people by teaching some Asana classes, Chi Gung, and meditation.I’ve practised yoga and Chi Gung for more than 30 years. I like the principles behind the Sutras and the Tao Te Ching along with the movements which I try to practise on most days. It is easier said than done, but it has helped me throughout my life.
I was a boat captain for many years. In 2010 I sailed into Sanur harbour and was very lucky to find the beachfront property where Angelique lived, which is where we eventually built the studio.I lived there for a year or so, just taught a few classes and had lots of fun with the Jodie O’Shea kids and angelique. Very blissful days. Then the modern yoga crowds began coming, so I decided to move out and let it go semi-commercial. That enabled us to really help the 2 foundations we support, all the staff and their families, and I hope all the students and visitors too.The staff are like family to me.
The foundation kids are now 50% beneficiaries of any profits and the rest primarily supports other good local causes including scholarships and training for locals, fair salaries for all the staff and the continued development of the studio business – so it can keep doing good things, I hope. I still hang around there most mornings. I like the ocean and usually do a bit of practise on the beach, and take angelique out for a graze.
We try to maintain standards and ethics in all the courses, retreats and classes we run. We all try to keep it real at Power of Now Oasis and have a bit of fun. – Chris

Sanur Community
Our shrine is the ocean. A rich and very active local community surrounds the studio, with a large temple and local market close by. Sanur is well known for its gentle, relaxed atmosphere, its quaint cafes and restaurants, and a multitude of fun activities like kite surfing, snorkeling, and traditional sailing. The clear water of the coral lagoon, together with the white sand beach, coconut palms, and gentle sea breeze make this a very special part of Bali.
The roads are safe for cyclists, and pedestrians, and the beaches are free from noisy, clubs and bars. The main town is chilled out and filled with a harmonious mix of relaxed tourists, ex-pats, locals, and families.
There are still lively activities but also spots in which you can be left alone and at peace. The waves are calm, the beach is brilliant white and pristine, the surf breaks are great to catch a morning or late afternoon ride, the sunset is breathtaking, and the sunrise? Well, there aren’t any words to describe it.
So if you are truly looking for a place to unwind during your holiday without all that noise, traffic, and a massive amount of people, give Sanur a chance. Mass tourism hasn’t gotten its hands on Sanur (and we pray it never will) which leaves everyone, local, expats, and tourists alike a lot more calm and a lot more happy.
