Lisa Iyengar yoga teacher in Bali at Power of Now Oasis in Sanur.
Lisa came to Bali sixteen years ago following a relationship separation, looking for a fresh start. She found her happy place and never really left.
Her yoga journey began with Vinyasa, coming from a background of weight training. As she advanced and her body began asking for something different, she discovered Iyengar yoga and found the approach she had always been looking for: precise, deeply intelligent, and endlessly layered. She has been on that path ever since, and it has completely changed the way she looks at life itself.
Iyengar yoga is one of the most detail-oriented and technically rigorous styles of yoga in the world. Developed by B.K.S. Iyengar, it places a strong emphasis on alignment, the use of props, and holding postures with awareness and precision. For students recovering from injury, managing chronic pain, or simply wanting to understand their bodies more deeply, it offers something that faster-paced styles cannot. Lisa brings all of that intelligence to her classes at Power of Now Oasis.
With over twenty years of experience and more than 1,500 hours of formal training, Lisa is an E-RYT 500 with Yoga Alliance and a certified Level 1 Iyengar yoga teacher, currently halfway through her two-year full-time training for Level 2 certification. She has taught across Nepal, India, the Philippines, Australia, and Bali, bringing her practice to students from all walks of life.
What drives her is simple: the belief that yoga is a lifelong commitment and a never-ending journey of learning. Through it she has found a way to live that has transformed how she sees everything. Teaching, for Lisa, is the chance to help others better enjoy this life journey, and that possibility is what keeps her on the mat and in the classroom day after day.
At Power of Now Oasis she teaches Iyengar yoga, working with students to develop a kinder, more conscious relationship with their bodies and a genuine connection between mind, body, and soul. Her classes are suitable for all levels and particularly valuable for students who want to slow down, go deeper, and truly understand what they are doing and why.
The mind is the ruler of the body. The breath is the ruler of the mind.
