There are many reasons why yoga students choose Bali for their teacher training journey. The peaceful surroundings, warm community, and natural beauty of the island support self-discovery and focused learning. Bali’s energy helps you step out of your routine and into a space where transformation can begin. While you’ll find many trainings in Ubud or Canggu, Sanur offers a special atmosphere – calmer and more spacious, making it ideal for both body and mind.
Our yoga school is based in Sanur, Bali – just a short 30-minute drive from the airport – making your arrival smooth after a long flight. You’ll find cafés, healthy food spots, local markets, and beautiful beaches within walking distance. It’s a quiet place, ideal for rest and reflection between yoga classes and course activities.

Mental and Emotional Preparation
Before starting your course, take time to reflect on why you’re choosing this training journey. Whether you want to become a yoga teacher or simply deepen your yoga practice, this clarity will support you during more intense phases of the training.
Some days will flow with ease, others may feel emotionally or physically demanding. It’s all part of the teaching journey. Journaling, meditation, and moments of quiet can help you stay grounded. You’ll be surrounded by students from around the world who share similar intentions. These friendships often become one of the most valuable parts of your program experience. Our team and teachers are here to guide you, encourage you, and offer a listening ear whenever needed.
Physical Preparation: Build Your Practice

Building a foundation in your yoga practice is helpful before you begin your teacher training course. To help you prepare both physically and mentally, you’ll also receive a recommended reading list with books you can explore before the training starts. You’ll receive a short asana list before the training begins to help you get familiar with the most important poses ahead of time. Take a few weekly classes in different styles—Hatha, Vinyasa, and Yin yoga—to increase strength, flexibility, and awareness. This will also help you connect with your own body and notice how different asanas affect your alignment. Read more here about The Benefits of Consistency in Your Practice. If you join our YTT at Power of Now Oasis, you’re welcome to attend as many daily yoga classes as you’d like for two weeks before and after your training—it’s a great way to ease in, explore your practice, and settle into your new rhythm.
Expect moments during the program when you’ll feel physically tired or challenged. That’s normal. Maybe you’ll come across a challenging asana like Bakasana (crow pose), or find yourself struggling to understand a theoretical part of the philosophy class. Our experienced yoga teachers will encourage you to try your best, but they will also support your individual pace. You’ll learn how to teach with compassion and adapt poses for different bodies, making your teaching inclusive.
Our course includes in-depth alignment classes, anatomy lessons, and practice teaching. This means you won’t just learn how to teach—you’ll embody the philosophy and learn how to guide students through a safe and thoughtful yoga class.

Packing with intention will help you feel more prepared for your teacher training in Bali. Here’s what we recommend:
- Lightweight yoga clothes (enough for daily yoga classes – laundry service is also very affordable in Bali)

Travel Tips for International Yoga Students
Bali’s international airport is located in Denpasar. From there, it’s about a 30-minute ride to our yoga school and sister boutique hotel Kolonial House in Sanur. If needed, we’re happy to help you organize transportation with one of our trusted local drivers to make your arrival smooth and worry-free.
Visa: Most students enter Bali with a 30-day Visa on Arrival, which can be arranged online before your flight or upon arrival. It’s extendable once, allowing for up to 60 days in total.
Currency: The local currency is Indonesian Rupiah (IDR). Use apps like XE Currency or the built-in iPhone calculator to convert prices. Carry both cash and a card. Most restaurants in Bali accept cards, but it’s always handy to have some cash on hand for smaller shops or a fresh coconut on the beach.
Useful apps:
- Grab and Gojek (transport, food delivery)
- WhatsApp (essential for communication)
- Google Maps and Translate
- XE Currency
These tools will simplify your daily routine, so you can stay focused on your yoga training course.
